APTET June 2026 Notification

The Andhra Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (APTET) June 2026 notification has been released by the Department of School Education, Government of Andhra Pradesh. Eligible candidates can apply online through the official portal from 5 June 2026 to 5 July 2026. APTET is a mandatory eligibility examination for candidates aspiring to become teachers in Classes I to VIII in Andhra Pradesh.

Application Fee

The application fee is ₹1,000 per paper. Candidates applying for multiple papers must pay the prescribed fee separately for each paper.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must possess the prescribed educational qualifications for the respective paper. Eligibility requirements vary for Paper 1A, Paper 1B, Paper 2A and Paper 2B based on NCTE and RCI norms. Final-year candidates pursuing eligible teacher education courses may also appear, subject to qualification requirements for future recruitment.

APTET Papers

Paper 1A: Classes I to V (Regular Schools)
Paper 1B: Classes I to V (Special Schools)
Paper 2A: Classes VI to VIII (Regular Schools)
Paper 2B: Classes VI to VIII (Special Schools)
Candidates possessing qualifications for both levels may appear for multiple papers.

Exam Pattern

Each paper contains 150 multiple-choice questions carrying 150 marks. The duration of the examination is 2 hours and 30 minutes. There is no negative marking. Questions assess subject knowledge, pedagogy, critical thinking, analytical ability and conceptual understanding.

Pass Marks

OC/EWS: 90 Marks (60%)
BC: 75 Marks (50%)
SC/ST/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen: 60 Marks (40%)

Certificate Validity

APTET certificates are valid for a lifetime as per current NCTE guidelines and Government of Andhra Pradesh regulations. Candidates may attempt the examination multiple times to improve their scores.

Weightage in Teacher Recruitment

APTET scores carry 20% weightage in Andhra Pradesh Teacher Recruitment. The remaining 80% weightage is based on the Teacher Recruitment Test (TRT).
